Sometimes, trials and testings make us feel imprisoned in an ark with no other place to go. But just like Noah who received God’s sign of hope inside the ark through a dove, God will also send us the Holy Spirit to assure us that the flood of trials in our life is almost over.
[ No one will be able to stand up against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.-Joshua 1:5 ]
God wants us to walk in peace continually. If we try to figure out everything, it will be very hard for us to live in peace. But if we choose to believe that all of the trials we are experiencing has a good purpose, we can rest with hope in our hearts that God will take care of everything that concerns us.
[ "And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them." - Romans 8:28 ]
We all know that we are living in the last days. As Christians, it is important that we know what we should focus on and “Who” we really need. Times are tough but our Father in Heaven sent us the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth and to strengthen us when we are weak.
[ "But the Comforter, who is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."-John 14:26 ]
We all know that our salvation is a free gift from God. But one thing we must also remember is that “the blessing” of God comes through obedience. The Lord says, “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land…” It is our Father’s will for us to prosper, that’s why He is reminding us today that the sooner we choose to follow and obey His will, the faster we will experience and receive His great plan for us.
[ "See, today I am letting you choose a blessing or a curse. You will be blessed if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today." -Deuteronomy 11:26-27 ]
With all the things that chase our attention each day. With all the problems that keep us tired and weary, God is reminding us that it is still in those times we spend with Him will we find true rest and amazing wisdom. As God’s people, our confidence will come from our relationship with Him and not from anyone or anything else in this world.
[ "Those who remain in Me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from Me you can do nothing." -John 15:5 ]
Do you worry a lot and always feel troubled about many things?
Hear Jesus’ words to Martha when she was upset about working too much. He said, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
What is the good part? It is finding rest at the feet our Lord who can provide for all our needs.
[ "Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken." Psalm 62:5-6 ]
God will use people to bless us. No matter what our need is today, He is reminding us that He already gave us the principle on how to receive from Him. Jesus said, “do to others as you would have them do to you.” Do you need mercy? Show mercy. You need love? Give love. Do you need forgiveness? Help in time of trouble? Do it to other people and see what God will do for you. Time and again we are reminded to not grow weary in doing good. Why? Because there is indeed a harvest if we will never give up.
[ "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets." -Matthew 7:12 ]
What should we do when we encounter people who cause us pain? The truth is, there’s no way we can go through life without being hurt. Jesus said, we should love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us. Why? Because bitterness will only extend our pain, make us unhappy and cause us to lose a lot of things. Yes, God knows it’s not easy, but we can be assured that He will give us the grace to follow His will so that we can be released from the chains of anger and bitterness.
[ "But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked." - Luke 6:28 ]
God wants us to know that His Word is not just about knowledge, but also about trust and obedience. The foundation of a blessed life is not just hearing God’s word, but by applying it in every area of our lives. This is one of the marks of a true worshiper of God. He is reminding us today that through spending time with Him, we can learn how to love unselfishly and have wisdom in every decision that we will make.
[ "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." -Matthew 7:24 ]
As children of God, our Heavenly Father may have given us different sets of talents or qualities, but He made sure to give all of us “equal opportunities” to be blessed by Him. How? By allowing each of us to come before His holy presence and hear directly from Him. God wants to remind us today that all direction and blessing will come from Him. He is just waiting for us to acknowledge our weaknesses and rest in His presence.
[ The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." -Psalm 32:8 ]
