Better Is One Day
Better is one day in Your arms and embrace
Than a thousand hugs with someone else
Your arms aid when I am hurt; Clothe when I am bare
But others’ hurt even when I show that I care
Better is one day in Your presence
Than a thousand with others’ existence
Your presence makes me see and know
While theirs’ blinded me which way to go
Better is one day in Your grace and mercy
Than a thousand in the world – full of strife and envy
Your grace and mercy are gifts that brought me to life
While the world offers me deceits and lies
Better is one day to hear Your voice
Than a thousand in the sound of remorse
Your voice is a precious present like the rushing waters
But the world’s is a curse of death of blasphemers
Better is one day under Your feet
Than a thousand, even eternity, in the bottomless pit
I would rather be with Your Holy Spirit
Than live and die with regret of shouldn’t haves and what ifs

“Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.”
Psalm 84:10
